Love this tune cheers man
"Montana" or "Inca Roads" from 1974 "A Token of His Extreme" at the Roxy Theater are both amazing live performances.
First reaction Ive watched from you because of this band, LMFAO, not sure Ive heard anyone say it sounds like a TV sitcom, or a freaking Christmas song. Wow.
@@AndyStewart-zo4nc dammit Andy, you made me go back and watch just so I could get the context because I’m not going to remember anything I said almost two years ago! That being said, context says none of that was derogatory hahaha
Do not Smear FR. JACK HACKETT.....legend of a man!!!!
A few Zappa recommendations: "The Torture Never Stops" (live) "Cosmik Debris" "Titties & Beer" "Black Napkins" (Yugoslavia 1975 live is my fav, but all versions are good) "Penguin in Bondage" (from Roxy & Elsewhere live) "Help, I'm a Rock" (1968 live at the Whiskey)
Only heard a few Zappa albums? Oooh, Zappa-itis craves that virgin brain :) Every fan has countless recommendations--enjoy this rabbit hole!
As an irishman born in northern ireland. rugby a joke playing the two songs.. Amhrán na bhFiann is our national anthem no need to make up another song.. you dont see france / australia / england new zeland standing for two anthems .. they played for ireland for years until 1995 until the dreadful irelands call was forced upon players. It is actually shockin that Amhrán na bhFiann is not played at away games
Kate Bush,a national treasure!,no need for the f,ing
@@johncollins392 I wonder what it’s like to worry so much about how other people talk 😂
Johnny ”Guitar” Watson on vocals (and harmonica?).
Correction, Bobby Martin on harmonica.
adblocker is your friend dude no more stupid annoying youtube ads
So different to their other music but this is their best imo :)
Great band 👍
Their 4 non-metal albums are actually pretty different from one another, it mostly depends on what you want to hear: Jazzy, aloof stuff: Heritage Pretty, classic 70s prog rock: Pale Communion Heavy blues with bouts of psychedelia: Sorceress In Cauda Venenum I'm not sure how to describe, but it's a logical continuation of Watershed minus the death metal. Pretty good for a full album listen, as well.
Good calls! I think I’m going to hit one of those up soon. Thanks for The great suggestions.
@@WhatTheHellEverything Since you stopped with Watershed, maybe ICV would be the most logical next step based on StunDamage's description? If I'm not mistaken Damnation is also non-growling but it's not one of the newer albums as you requested.
Best live band ever in their prime
Just watched the whole thing through with you and seen this umpteenth amount of times. Never gets old. Saw them live the first time as a 13 year old in the mid 80's and over 30 times since, the last only a few years ago. Count myself so so lucky to have grown up an Oils fan in the era. Cheers for reacting to this. Just subbed and look forward to seeing your Oils journey
From 1:25 to 2:00 that's a fact! Love the Church.
I stand by it 😂
Sorry for the link

I run a great music session in one of our local pubs every thursday night, bet you would enjoy it. Enjoy the trip, when you finally set out.. Regards J
That sounds fantastic, I’ll definitely hit you up! Thank you!
pale communion is their best prog rock record also damnation

@@WhatTheHellEverything Means we have work to do....By the way, Liliac? "Bad Boyz"?
The line up for the "goat island gig" is Peter Garrett lead Vocals, Rob Hirst drums, Peter Gifford bass, Martin Rotsey guitar and Jim Moginie guitar and keyboards they don't do a lead and rhythm guitar Jim and Martin play in equal parts. There is an excellent couple of movies out about the band. 1984 Midnight Oil and a new one The Hardest Line has just come out, the band did their final world tour in 2022 after reforming in 2017. In 2002 Peter Garrett left the band and went into Federal Politics, he left in 2013. The band members have multiple individual projects under their names.
Yep, I’ve seen these guys three times. There aren’t many gigs you go to where the crowd knows exactly what it has to do and when, especially with overlapping different harmonies to the lead singer. Most crowds just follow what the singer is doing exactly.
Jimmy Chairman's boxers were a traveling boxing show in Australia way back in the day. A boxing troupe that toured and performed for people in remote areas of Australia. Like a traveling circus but with competition boxers .
Only up to 'Only the Strong' so far & gotta say....Fkn luvn ur reaction brother!👍 You definitely get the Oils! No band was better Live ..fact! ✌️🖐️
The thing is that they have said after Watershed that "Fans should learn to let go of the death growls, cuz they´re not coming back...". But coming up to this album, many people just had a feeling that it was comeback time for the growls. Their setlists of late combined with Mikael sounding a lot better growling live as well since they started touring again in June, gave us a hint of what was to come!
Yeah, I attended the Plovdiv 2022 performance, and Mikael actually inserted a growl in Moon Above, Sun Below. That made me go "The man is rediscovering his love of harsh vocals, isn't he?" And honestly, ICV already sounded closer to Watershed than it did to Heritage/Pale Communion.
The late setlist was decited by fans vote. But maybe Mikael saw this as a sign to come back to growls. Who know's...

Thank you, great reaction. By the way, FYI- BabyMetal means a new birth of Genre called "kawaii metal" ("kawaii" meaning "cute").
The §1 means "Chapter or Paragraph 1" Welcome back the growls. Welcome back Old-peth.

The picture of Sinead on your cover to this youtube video is not from the version of Troy you watched. Don't get me wrong. It's a fantastic video, of course, because it's Sinead O'Connor. Take a look and listen to this video. It is intense! I consider it the best recording she made. Oh, and the picture you have is from this video. Enjoy! ruclips.net/video/1lV21J75vFE/видео.html
They make MOST of their instruments. Maria's ravanahatha (the oldest sort of bow-played stringed instrument in the world, originated in India) was gifted to her by an artisan who used his own daughter's hair to string it. Theres also plenty of non-instruments on stage. One of the drummers uses strung shells and nuts to produce unique sounds and the guy in the badger headress spends most the concert hitting a sword on his table with a blaclsmith hammer. He also had bits of broken metal on strings and skulls he created percussion with.
They did have recorded music, but they were a last minute addition to this show (castlefest in Germany, multiple music groups) and this is what introduced them to almost everyone, in a viral way. So no, most the crowd was NOT prepared for them .
React to 'The scream of the butterfly' from their first album plzzz.
The problem with the old guys generation everything had to be in perfect tune but lane stayley in my opinion one of the best vocalist of all time For grunge erra
Smitty, thanks so much for the kind words! Ireland is a really interesting place to walk with all the small towns, ancient relics and if you have any Irish heritage, the land is always there calling and waiting for your return. Ps. I ended up walking all the way around Ireland and now in America 🇺🇸 🇮🇪 All the best to you Smitty. I am glad that you left your old life behind at 30 to become you are now !
@@DerekCullenOutdoors dude , I’ve been trying to catch up on your Appalachian journey!!! I LOVE what you’re doing. I do have some heritage but unsure how much. But I’m drawn to that place like no other, that’s all I know 😂 Keep it rolling, sir!
@@WhatTheHellEverything well, Ireland will be waiting for you. That said, the real journey happens inside but then you know this already! Cheers Smitty 🙏
I think you should watch the video for Experiment IV, It's more short movie than music video, and Kate sounds amazing.
Dude, the blonde cop, that guy did his best Lloyd Bridges from Airplane and I appreciate it.
You should cover Nod Scene! It's one of my favorites!

Scots know how to dive deep on emotions
Kings of Metal is probably one of the few songs that hit radio. it is not one of their better songs. It does describe them though. They were banned from playing some venues because they refused to turn the audio down. This is a better experience for Manowar. Live in 2005 with all former and current members of the band. ruclips.net/video/mxhWOtXOhD0/видео.html 21:07 minutes for this song.
